Confidence for Health
I am not one for social media and am not comfortable with the way I look most of the time but I am who I am and that isn’t going to change no matter what I look like. Looking over recent head shots and photos for my new website is not easy as I am my biggest critic.
I think this is the same for most people. We see our own flaws and insecurities. We live with them so we know them well.
I get why my clients aren’t the most comfortable in the gym. It is intimidating. Everyone seems to know what they are doing. Everyone looks good and looks like they have it all together.
The truth is that most people don’t.
They don’t feel comfortable until they have been there many times over or maybe never. Many just do the same thing over and over again because they don’t want to look stupid or like they don’t know what they are doing. Never trying anything new. They get really good at doing the same routine over and over again until they no longer see results and eventually they plateau.
I try an help my client see that everyone started the same difficult journey in the gym. And I try and teach them as many exercises and the reasons why we choose certain exercises so that they are armed with knowledge.
Knowledge that will help their confidence.
We still may focus on our flaws but if we are more confident around others then we won’t let those in insecurities hold us back from looking after our health.
